Compensation Analyst I, II, Senior - City of Overland Park (Overland Park, KS)

The City of Overland Park has a full-time Compensation Analyst position available in the Human Resources Department. The successful candidate may be hired at the I, II or Senior level, depending on experience.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City's compensation plan. Conducts job analysis and job evaluations. Conducts and participates in salary and fringe benefits surveys. Makes recommendations for changes in the City's compensation plans. Assists in the administration of the performance management system. Coordinates and oversees the operation of the human resources function of the human resource information system (HRIS). Conducts special studies of compliance with procedures, laws and statutes; financial impact of human resource proposals; and organizational structures of departments, divisions and cost centers. Oversees the administration of the City's bilingual compensation program and the Rewards & Recognition Program.

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, finance, or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of work experience and formal education preferred
  • SHRM certification or similar preferred
  • 2-3 years experience as HR generalist with 2 years of direct/indirect compensation experience

Compensation Analyst II requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, finance, or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of work experience and formal education.
  • SHRM certification or similar preferred
  • 2-5 years experience as HR generalist with 2 years of direct compensation experience
Compensation Analyst, Senior requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, personnel management, or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of work experience and formal education required.
  • Certification as a compensation professional is preferred.
  • CCP certification 5-8 years of compensation experience is required, or an equivalent level of experience. 
  • No City residency requirement.
Must successfully pass a background and credit check, drug screen and physical exam. Normal Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mon. - Fri.

Salary Range: I - $51,625.25 - $64,156.56 annually II - $57,287.78 - $71,609.72 annually Sr- $70,189.06 - $$87,736.32 annually
