    Client: The University of Kansas Hospital
    Location: Administrative offices in Mission, KS

    Primarily responsible for the administration of the health system’s Leave (FMLA, accommodation, personal, bereavement, military, sexual assault, education) and Disability (short term and long term) benefit programs. This role works directly with the third-party administrator, as well as managers and employees, payroll, HR-Employee Relations, HRIS and other internal partners. Responsible for all Lawson processing of employees on leave of absence (either through the manual HRIF process or through Lawson Manager Self-Serve). Audits KRONO’s timekeeping records of employees on leave, enters leave time accurately (STD, PTO, UTO, etc.) and resolves discrepancies. Authorizes the use of grandfathered EIR hours. The Leave Coordinator is also responsible for the leave administration portion of the New Manager training on Leave and Disability.

    Essential Functions:
    Administer all hospital intermittent and continuous Leave of Absence programs (FMLA, accommodations, Military Exigency and Military Care Givers, Military Leave, Personal Leave, Educational Leave, USERRA, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Leave, Bereavement Leave, Jury Duty, Time Away to Vote, state of Kansas Pregnancy Disability Leave).
    Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations related to leave and disability management.
    Processes all Lawson changes related to leave of absence and disability.
    Audits the KRONOS timekeeping records of employees on leave of absence and/or disability, ensuring that PTO, STD, UTO, and or EIR is appropriately paid.
    Administers the Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability programs with the third party payor.
    Advises and counsels employees regarding information related to their leave and disability benefits, responds to employee and manager inquiries and complaints to ensure quick and positive resolution.
    Participates in New Manager Orientation and attends vendor service meetings.
    Continues to increate knowledge and remain up to date on leave and disability regulations and practices by attending periodic benefit updates, seminars, webinars, and reading professional journal articles.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office, timekeeping system, HR data base.
    Experience with HR systems and employer sites on third-party vendor administration systems.
    Demonstrated skills in process/case documentation.
    High proficiency for detail-orientation, organization and prioritization.
    Exemplary customer service skills.
    Ability to establish rapport, collaborate and guide and influence management of leave cases with employees, manager, internal HR partners, and vendor partners.

    Education Level:      High School Diploma/GED equivalent

    Position Description:

    The Benefit Communication Administrator operates onsite at an assigned client location to provide administrative services to the client’s Human Resources department and employees, as well as BCInsourcing’s internal staff. Responsibilities include employee support and various client-specific administrative duties.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Service and Support: Develop a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of all employer-sponsored benefit plans; respond to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely manner; investigate and resolve benefit-related concerns, including enrollment, deduction, billing, and claims issues; support benefit email inbox and contact center, as assigned. Act as a liaison between the client’s HR department, employees, BCInsourcing, and benefit carriers.

    Administrative Management: Complete various administrative duties, as assigned by client and BCInsourcing; based on client needs, duties may include (but are not limited to) administration or support of Qualifying Life Events, Status Changes, Dependent Verification, Billing, Leave of Absences, New Hire Orientation, Appointment Scheduling, Benefit Enrollments and Applications.

    Attendance: Regular attendance is required. Hours may fluctuate during open enrollment periods and special projects in order to meet the needs of the client, including extended work hours, evenings, and weekends.
    Perform all functions as assigned.

    CLIENT-SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Wellness Coordination: Develop a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of the employer-sponsored Wellness Program; in coordination with the client’s HR department, develop and support an Employee-Recognition Program; respond to employee and program vendor inquiries in a timely manner; provide education and employee support; manage or support activities and events associated with the Wellness and Recognition Programs; act as a liaison between the client’s HR department, employees, and program vendors

    Learning Development Support: In coordination with the client’s Director of Total Rewards and Analytics and HR department, develop and support Learning and Development initiatives and employee education; respond to employee and vendor inquiries in a timely manner; manage or support activities and events associated with Learning and Development; act as a liaison between the client’s HR department, employees, and vendors

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Demonstrate polished articulate verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    Proven history operating in an environment requiring superior customer service support
    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    Proven experience following a step-by-step process while using organization and deductive reasoning to meet deadlines and produce positive outcome
    Experience operating under deadline pressure while remaining calm and professional. Detail mindset and formerly trained to function in a multi-task operation with consistent interruptions
    Former experience operating independently with little or no supervision while effectively interacting with all levels in a corporation

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Working knowledge of benefit insurance products, including core and/or voluntary benefit insurance products

    - Experience in budget oversight and a solid command of financial acumen
    - Ability to communicate to all stakeholders clearly and empathetically via various mediums
    - Ability to delegate, follow up, follow through and supervise people and projects
    - Strong negotiation skills and contract management
    - Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills and experience conducting difficult conversations
